

Senior Center Events Calendar
Senior Center hours: 9 AM-4 PM on weekdays, or as listed on the monthly calendar.
Enter through the kitchen door (pull on handle to open).
Saturdays: 9 AM-2 PM upon request. Building closed Sundays and holidays.
Please call the Senior Center at (715) 417-1227 (leave a message if no answer) to schedule an event, meeting, class, or activity, etc. Those hours designated “Open Room Use” are available for scheduling. Evenings and Saturdays are also available. Primary use of the Senior Center is intended for ages 62+. The activity may include younger participants. To reserve the room, please refer to the Senior Center Information for Events brochure and the Senior Center Use Policy and Application Form, located on the hallway table or shown as links below.
When using the Senior Center facilities, please follow the posted Senior Center Use Policy.
- Tai Chi, Qigong. Every Monday-Wednesday-Friday, 9-10 AM. Chair, walker, and wheel-chair friendly. In-person or via Zoom. Contact Roger at rmussell@att.net or call 312-524-3934.
- 3-13 Cards. Seniors-on-the-Go. Every Tuesday, 12:30-4 PM.
- 500 Cards. Every Thursday, 1-4 PM.
- Osceola Senior Citizens Club. Every first Wednesday of the month, 12 noon, for a potluck, informative program, and meeting. Bring a food dish to share. All 55+ are welcome to attend.
- Greeting Card Group. Every first Thursday of the month, 6-9 PM. The craft room 209 has stamping blocks and greeting card-making supplies. For more information about joining the group or creating cards, call one of the phone numbers listed on the storage room door.
- The Gathering. Every first and third Friday, 1-3 PM. Discuss topics, exchange ideas, share life experiences. Bring a lunch or coffee.
- River Valley Stitchers & Quilters. Every second Saturday, 10 AM-2 PM and every fourth Wednesday 10:30 AM- 4 PM. All are welcome either day to bring their projects to work on.
- Writers Group. Every fourth Thursday, 5 – 7 PM in Room 105. Contact 715-294-2657 for more information.
Bingo: Bingo cards (in a blue bin) and the cage of numbered balls are located in the storage room. Any senior-age group (along with younger participants) is welcome to play Bingo during open room hours.
Open Room Use: 9 AM-4 PM. During those morning or afternoon time blocks on the calendar entitled “Conversation, crafts, games …”, when no other activity is scheduled, the Senior Center is open and available for playing games, playing cards, coloring pictures, working on puzzles, all of which are located on the book shelf. Or, just have conversations. Drink coffee (make a pot or bring your own). Sit and read. Work on knitting or sewing projects. Start a class to teach others. Relax away from home. Get out of the weather extremes.
Vizio SmartTV: AV equipment (TV remote, keyboard, mouse, HDMI dongle) are located in the cupboard in the storage room. Please follow the TV use directions outlined in the hanging folder to the left of the screen. Use the TV remote to turn “On” the TV. Computer accessible items (WiFi):
DVD player – Watch DVDs or listen to music CDs.
Chrome browser – Access the internet to read email, search the web, zoom a meeting.
Old time radio shows for listening – Crime Classics, SixShooter series icons.
Open-source music selections for listening.
DO NOT TURN OFF (SHUT DOWN) THE COMPUTER. Use the “Off” button on the TV remote.
Wireless HDMI – Connect to a PC laptop computer, and display on the TV screen.
Watch Free Vizio – Watch free broadcast channels – movies, news, sports, more.
Smartcast – Access movies, Netflix, Prime Video, etc., (log-in subscription required).
AirPlay – Connect with a cell phone or tablet.
