Osceola Bridge Closure and Detours Update

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has announced updated information regarding the closure of the Hwy 243 Osceola Bridge over the St. Croix River.

The bridge is scheduled to close the week of November 2, 2026, and remain closed through fall 2027. During this time, motorists traveling between Osceola, Wisconsin, and Minnesota will need to use an alternate river crossing.

Detour Routes

Option 1: Hwy 8 River Crossing at Taylors Falls (North)

This is the designated detour route for motorists traveling around the bridge closure.

Option 2: Hwy 36 River Crossing at Stillwater (South)

Motorists may also use the alternate route via the Hwy 36 river crossing in Stillwater.
