Snow Removal
When it snows, crews are dispatched to the Village’s main arteries first and then to residential streets. The Village clears streets of ice and snow as quickly and efficiently as conditions permit.
Village Snow and Ice Removal Requirements
The owner, occupant or person in charge of every building, structure or lot in the Village fronting or abutting any street shall remove all snow and ice in front of such property to the width of the sidewalk within 24 hours of a snowfall. If ice has formed and cannot be removed, ashes, salt, sawdust or sand shall be applied to the ice. No one shall clear their property, except the sidewalk, of snow or ice onto a Village street.
Winter Parking Restrictions
Unoccupied vehicles are prohibited from parking on any Village street between the hours of 2 am and 6 am between November 15 and April 15 except with prior police approval. Vehicle owners are subject to towing, storage charges and a parking ticket.
