The Village contracts with Ben Campbell, West Wisconsin Inspection Agency, LLC to perform building inspections, zoning inspections, and minimum housing code inspection.

Penalty. A penalty fee shall be assessed for any work started without a building permit. The penalty fee shall be equal to the permit fee. The Village shall retain all penalty fees; the Clerk shall attribute the same to the general fund.

BUILDING PERMIT FEES

New One and Two Family Homes:  $450 + $0.20 per s.f. (square foot (s.f.) total is based on all finished space, unfinished space and attached structures that are part of the submitted plan such as an attached garage, deck and porch)

Residential Additions $200 + $0.20 per s.f. (s.f. total is based on all finished space, unfinished space and attached structures that are part of the submitted plan such as an attached garage, deck and porch). Any addition over 800 s.f. shall follow new home fees.

Residential Alterations:  $50 + $7 per $1,000, or fraction thereof, of cost (Building cost per RS Mean Cost Data)

Commercial and Industrial New:  $600.00 + $0.20 per s.f. on the first 10,000 s.f. of space and $0.10 per s.f. on any remaining finished space, all unfinished space, and all attached structures that are part of the submitted plan such as an attached garage, deck and porch.

Commercial and Industrial Additions: $400.00 + $0.20 per s.f. on the first 10,000 s.f. of space and $.10 per s.f. on any remaining finished space, all unfinished space, and all attached structures that are part of the submitted plan such as an attached garage, deck or porch.

Commercial and Industrial Alterations$100 + $7 per $1,000, or fraction thereof, of cost (Building cost per RS Means Cost Data) up to $500,000 and $4 per $1000 over $500,000

OTHER INSPECTION FEES

State building permit seal, when required:  $35 each

Plan Review10 % of

Additional plan review from changes, additions:  $50/hr.

Inspections outside normal business hours:  $50/hr.

Re-inspection:  $100 for re-inspection over two inspection trips

Inspections with no specified category:  $50/hr.

Erosion control permit:  $100 for projects disturbing more than 1,000 s.f. of land and all new one and tow family dwellings

Footing and Foundation:  $100 Flat Fee

Renewal Fee:  Half the original permit fee (minimum $50, maximum $250)

Repairs: See Residential and Commercial Alterations and Additions in Section A.

Repairs and Alterations – Minor – Minor repairs and alterations costing less that $2,000, which do not change occupancy, area, structural strength, fire protection, exits, natural light or ventilation  No Charge or Permit Required

Roof – Repair or Replacement of an external roof surface exceeding $2,000 in value, including without limitation; shingles, metal roofing, tiles and rubber membrane:  $50

Administration:  20% of permit; $10 minimum and $150 maximum

Repairs and Alterations – Minor – Minor repairs and alterations costing less that $2,000, which do not change occupancy, area, structural strength, fire protection, exits, natural light or ventilation:  No Charge or Permit

MINIMUM FEES

Decks:  $100

Fences:  $50

Fireplaces:  $100

Porches and Gazebos:  $100

Pool requiring a building permit:  $180

Signs:  $50

Satellite TV antenna:  $0

Sheds/Detached Garages/Pole Buildings 300+ s.f.:  $100 + $0.10 per s.f. + $50 per electrical, plumbing, and HVAC

The value of construction for calculating permit fees shall be calculated using the most recent Building Valuation Data (including regional modifiers) as published by the International Code Council in Building Safety Journal.

SEPARATE PERMIT FEES

Move or Raze a Building:  $100

Remodeling requiring permit:  $.50 per square feet of affected area *

*Electrical, HVAC and plumbing additional

Minimum Housing Code Inspections:  $55 per unit; $40 re-inspection fee

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning Commercial to $50,000 value:  $100 plus 1% of total work

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning Commercial over $50,000 value:  $500 plus .75% of value over $500

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning Residential Equipment:  $50/unit

Electrical Service Feeder Panels:  $50 each

Electrical New Circuits:  $5 each

Electrical Circuit Alterations:  $.50 per opening

Plumbing Equipment Installation:  $10 per fixture

Plumbing Lateral Inspection:  $50
